My Story

Passed away in Sacramento June 30, 2008 at the age of 62. Beloved wife of the late Max Quarnberg. Loving mother of Kristan (Jeff) Love, Holly (Robert) Looman, Katrina (David) Clemons, Gavin (Antoinette) Hill & Kyle (Kimberly) Hill. Devoted grandmother of her "bakers dozen," Kelsey, Austin, Trevor, Cyrus, Zonly, Madison, Myranda, Savannah, Ariel, Baylee, Nolan, Rory & Cooper. Preceded in death by her loving parents Clifford and Gladys Colbert & sister Suzanne Estees. Past member of the Washington Unified School District Board of Directors. She was very active in girl's softball as a board member and coach. Garla retired from the Teamsters Local #150 after 14 years of service. Her backyard was a beautiful reflection of her love of gardening, which was the first place all the kids would go. A "jack of all trades," seamstress, carpenter, jewelry designer, home decorator, and artist. She never did anything half way and faced life head on! We know Mom and Max are now dancing the night away. She was a beautiful, strong woman who was loved deeply by us all.
