Giles
Wilson Dalby, Sr., 80, of Post, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 12,
2013, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 1, 1932 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Blanche
Connell and Arno R Dalby. He married the
love of his life, Nell Floyd, on June 2, 1952, and enjoyed sixty wonderful years
together.
Dalby served
many years as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Post. According to Giles, his proudest
accomplishment was his family, followed by his service to Garza County, the
State of Texas and his association with Plains Capital Bank.
Memories
will forever be cherished by his three daughters Elizabeth Elliott and her husband
Robert of San Angelo, Rebecca Dalby of Houston, Charlcie Mosser and husband
Johnny of Lubbock, and son, Giles W. Dalby, Jr. and wife Mendy of Post, along with
ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family would also like to acknowledge Dorothy Pringler, Rhonda Valdez
and Lee Wayne Greathouse for their years of love and care to the family. He is also survived by specials cousins Lynn
and Buddy Forbess of Lubbock and Mary Louise McCrary of Lubbock and longtime friends Joe Kirk Fulton, Jim Sexton, Bob Macy, and Jack
Kirkpatrick.
In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations are requested to First Presbyterian Church of Post
(910 W. 10th Street Post, Texas 79356) or the Community Recovery
Center (P.O. Box 622 Post, Texas 79356).
A celebration
of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Post Antelope
Arena with the burial to follow at the Cross H Ranch under the direction of
Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be
from 6 to 8 p.m., April 15, at Hudman Funeral Home in Post.
