My Story

My grandmother was 60 years old when she left us alone in this world. She took her first breath july 31, 1946 and lived along life. i remember seeing all her pictures and hearing all about her childhood and how it used to be. my grandma was a wonderful and very strong witted woman, she never showed any signs of struggling through life until we found out she had cancer. we never knew when she was in pain because she was always the type of woman to hide it and trust me she hid it very well. she always used to tell me "always keep your head up, because if life is rough now it can always get better." Ever since i was little i lived by that quote and will till i take my last breath. There were so many memories and i will never forget them. my grandma meant so much to me, my auntie, my mom, my papa and the rest of our family. she had suffered for a few years with cancer and it finally got ahold of her and took control where she had no look on what was going to happen. i had a hard time coping with it as well as my aunt and everyone else who was close to her. when we found out how bad her cancer was it completely tore us apart but we stayed strong and helped her through it as much as possible. i had absolutly no shame in helping my family take care of her because i wanted to be there for her till her last breath. i will never forget the last words she told me "i love you." i also will remember when she told my family members to take care of me. We miss her and love her with every inch of our hearts. to everyone out there who has lost a family member or has survived from cancer please wear ur cancer ribbon proud and help out in your community with cures for cancer by raising money
