- Our comfort comes in knowing that she is finally at peace with her Lord.
God saw that you were getting tired
& the cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
& whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
& saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Busy hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
It's lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day,
Our lives aren't the same
Since you went away.
When days are sad & lonely,
& everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper,
"Cheer up & carry on."
Each time we see your picture
You seem to smile & say,
"Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping,
We'll meet again someday."
Walk with me down paths you tried to have me follow as you taught me the lessons in life.
I still need your presence beside me, though now I'm a man/woman, a father/mother, a husband/wife.
Your spirit lingers in my mind, as I bring my own down these roads we've walked.
& your words of wisdom ring in my ears, as I bring my own children the same advice you've brought.
Like a mirror I reflect your light my loving mother & I carry you in my heart. The way you carried me through a lifetime now we two shall never part.
-To her children: Marty, Alicia, Tammy, Timmy, Boyd, Missy & Keith.
I remember soft & gentle hands,
Reaching out to dry my tears;
I remember warm & loving arms,
Someone that I could run to,
Who always made sure she was there;
An ear that would patiently listen,
Someone who always cared.
There's something rare & wonderful
God placed in a Grandmother's heart;
Something he knew a child would need,
Right from the very start.
Heaven has a place reserved
For Grandmother's sweet & kind;
But we had a little Heaven on earth.
In the Grandmother I called mine.
-To her grandchildren & great grandchildren: CC, Kristen, Mitch, Kelli, Amber, DJ, Gabby, Briana, Jade, Caleb, Landon, Gage, & Jace.
