My favorite memory about Joe was his laugh. It was infectous. When you made him laugh, you couldn't help but laugh too. His whole face lit up. He was very fun to be around. Hendy, Adam, Marie and Bill, I am so sorry for your loss. It's almost unbelievable that someone who was so full of life, and seemed to be able to live his in just the way he wanted, is now gone. There's just no sense ...

To all of Joe's loving family- I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your loss. I happened to be visiting my family in Louisville when I heard the news. Joe was an incredible person and he will be missed greatly.

I came to know Joe in San Francisco when he visited Hendy. He was such a dear person and I hold especially dear his easy smile and openness. He was part of the gang and we were always so happy to have Joe there. I remember him as a thoughtful, gentle friend with a good sense of humour. My heart and prayers are with his family and friends.

Joe was a uniquely great guy, with an honesty and sincerity, and altruistic beliefs, that he lived by, and not just talked about in private like most of us do. For that I really appreciated him more than I ever let him know. My warmest regrets go out for his whole family. He obviously was loved greatly by you all.

I got to know Joe during his many visits to San Francisco. He was a true southern gentleman...kind, thoughtful and always had a great story to share. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Louisville. All my love, Gina

Words can not express how sad and empty my heart felt after hearing the news we all as friends and close family never wish to hear. One of those people that was such a joy to be around and someone we all looked forward to seeing. Actually out of all the people I know and have met, Joe was one person I always wanted to get to know better and had hoped later in life I would have had the chance...
