My Story

Sorrow comes in waves, but it rolls over us & though it may seem to smother us. It passes away while we remain- Henry James

My father was a great man & I know he wouldn't want us to be dwelling on the sadness of his death. Instead he would want us  to focus on all the happiness & joy in our lives & the good times & laughter we always shared with him. A man as full of life & energy as  my dad will always be remembered by those of us that knew & loved him. Even though we all will miss him, we'll find consolation in all the good feelings of the memories we have of him.
I remember as a little boy him taking me to Yankees games, & teaching me all about baseball. On Saturday afternoons, watching games together with him from when i was still very young until now I always got a kick out of how mad & he would get if the Yankees were losing, & how he would call them all dogs & bums, & worthless you know whats. Then when they were winning, they were all incredible athletes, & the best team ever. He always taught me to be comppasionate of other people, to be forgiving & not hold a grudge. he loved making others laugh. He always had something funny to say even in the worst of times he could find humor. He would help anyone that needed help. If ever there was a man that would literally give you the shirt off his back it was my dad. I know he's up in heaven right know telling a joke, or mowing his neighbors lawn or shoveling someones driveway & tonight  he'll no doubt be cooking a huge pot of Pasta Fagioli. I will always miss you dad but I'll also always have great memories of you to hold on to. You were a role model, my hero & my best friend. You taught me everything I know & i know I can make it through anything this life throws at me thanks to you. God bless you, I love you Dad. See you on the other side.
