We have lost a truly GREAT person in Ponch. One of the good guys, no, the best. There are commonalities in every story told, in every tribute written, in every memory of Him. He was the absolute best friend you could ever have. His presence made everything better, no matter where you were or what you were doing, he made it all better. His smile alone could and did change everything. Whether you had an 0 for day on the softball field or a terrible day at work, no matter what, Ponch made you smile. From the Pall Malls to the floppy hats, the beer pong table to the cornhole boards, the dugout to the pitcher’s mound, of all the things he will be remembered by, his incomparable personality and heart will be remembered and missed the most. We are truly blessed, all of us, to have had the privilege of knowing Joe, on whatever level we knew him and for that I am thankful. He is definitely in a better place and I know in my heart that he is watching over us each and every second. I think I can speak for everyone when I say: Ponch you will be missed more than you could have ever imagined, thank you for your friendship and love, you will never be forgotten. From all of your teammates past and present: We love you, and we got this! Every inning from here on out will be played for YOU! “Middle’s closed”! My God, we are going to miss you Ponch, rest well, we love you.
