My Story

I have 24 years of memories with Dad - choosing one is too difficult! I grew to laugh at his loud, assertive voice and he hated it! I would call just to chat, but most importantly when I needed advice without sugar-coating. He directed me when I needed the guidance, yet never hesitated to put me in my place. Sometimes I would stop in at the Partsman just to say “Hi!” and he loved it! Dad taught me all about his love of music, and I grew to be just like him. Dad and I would stay up just to listen to guitar riffs and sing along to songs we both loved. Christmas was my favourite time of the year with him. We’d bake for 18 hours and laugh & joke & steal cookies. We baked with him our entire lives, and he knew we took cookies when he wasn’t looking but he’d always say “Hey Christmas is for the kids!” I will miss him terribly my entire life, and regret that he won’t be here for so much of my life – but I will always have the memories we created, and every time I feel the urge to call just to hear his voice I’ll remember his hugs because they were the best things he gave me!
