My Story

Henry Lee Beyer was born in Tynan TX to Joseph & Louise (Lizzie) Beyer on March 13, 1926 and Left us on ________________, he was__. He was a member of the US Army from October 6, 1944 to October 20, 1946. He spent most of his life living in South Texas with his wife of 43 years, Irma Beyer, where he loved to garden. They spent many hours canning the fruits of his labor, before her untimely death in 1993. Henry moved from Wharton, TX to Woodville TX in 2005 to be closer to loved ones. He retired from N.L. Baroid in 1985 after 25 years with the company in Beeville & Port Lavaca TX. He is a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Tynan, TX where he and Irma were the first couple married on March 15, 1950, after the church was moved there.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Jospeh & Lizzy Beyer of Skidmore TX, wife, Irma Beyer of Wharton TX, and brother-in-laws, Albert Laechelin and Herbert Striddle both of Mathis TX.

Henry is survived by his daughter Charlotte Oaks and son-in-law Benjamin Oaks Sr. of Crosby TX, granddaughter Valerie Appleton of New Caney TX, granddaughter and grandson-in-law Angela and Daniel Welch of Woodville TX, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lauren and Jason Wells of Crosby TX. Sister Cora Laechelin of Mathis TX, brother and sister-in-law, J.C. & June Beyer of Pampa TX, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn & Bill Ross of Arlington TX, sister-in-law, Melba Stridde of Skidmore TX, & brother-in-law & sister-in-law, H.H. & Verna Mae Laechelin of Beeville TX.
