My Story

Born in the outskirts of Birmingham in 1933, Lionel, Janet and Evelyn were born to Evelyn and Reginald Callow. Lionel had a very exciting life which saw him travel the world while in the Royal Navy and then start his own business after relocating to South Africa. Lionel was a father to 5 lovely children, 3 from his first marriage to Anne - Nick, Cathy and David and 2 from his second marriage to Caroline - Cariad and Conrad and Granfather to 6 lovely grandkids.

Lionel was the most amazing father that anyone could ask for - he was extremely intelligent, determined, forward thinking, logical, loving, caring, fun loving and a bit of a comedian with a killer sense of humour and personality.

He always strove to do the best for his 5 children and for his family.

His passing, after a long fight with cancer, left a huge void in all the lives of people he touched. There is not a day that goes by that we dont all think about him and celebrate the fact that he was our lionel.

He is sorely missed .
