My Story

William (Billiam) Henry Long, 34, of Woodstock, died tragically Friday, July 20, 2012.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor James Bailey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, at Valley Funeral Chapel, Edinburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Billiam was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 7, 1978, the son of Fredrick Marshall and Tawana Houser Long.

He was a high school graduate and worked in the landscaping business. Billiam was a loving son, father, brother and uncle.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, William Xavier, Jazmin Dawn Long, Lewis Long and Aiden Harley Gutridge; brother, Greg D. Long; and sister, Alisha I. Long. Billiam is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, a nephew and his wife, Crystal Long.

Billiam was family-oriented and free-spirited. He was a man with many talents. He had a passion for art, technology and lived by the word of the Bible. He was loved by many. He is missed by all and will never be forgotten.

To all friends and family of WILLIAM LONG: Thank you for all the prayers and support we have recieved. On July 20,2012 my brother was shot and killed on my porch. LOVE YOU BRO!! Bill was a loving son, brother, dad and uncle. Each and every time that man saw me he told me he loved me. Just wish I could have told him I loved him as much as he told me. Anytime I needed help around my house he was there. Always saying if there's anything else just call and I'll be there to help. BILLIAM would take his nieces to the park and to the swimming pool. He loved his family and we love him so much. We can not judge him on the actions that took place that night. I know because I looked into his eyes that night. He was not the loving brother I've known for 34 years.Something was wrong. Billiam needed help and was attempting to reach out, unfortunately it just didn't come in time. BILLIAM is in a better place now. He is now our family and friends GUARDIAN ANGEL. BROTHER I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH. To the officers know that the family is deeply sorry that you were put into a situation that I'm sure all of you hoped you would never have to face in your careers. We are hoping for your speedy recovery's not only physically but emotionally too. We are praying for each of you and your families.
