The Griffin Family, Know that God knows and he cares. The Bible teaches us that when we are weak his (God) strenght is perfected. Go to God in prayer. during this time and allow God to be your strenght and peace, now and forevermore. Deacon Marty, we Love you and will continue to lift you and your family up in our prayers.                                                                    A Woman of Many Hats

Born, Marie Tucker Griffin on Tuesday, October 30, 1934 to the late Mr. David “Baby” Tucker Sr. and Daphne “Mama” Walker-Tucker. After a long battle with cancer God called our Mother home on September 20, 2009. For years she fought this ugly disease. Mother was a strong woman, a business woman, a church leader and organizer. No matter what she did she expected her children to love and support each other no matter what;

Baptized at the age of thirteen, August 24, 1947, by the late Rev. J.A. Pierre at Good Faith Baptist Church in Lettsworth, Louisiana, where she received her secondary education. She graduated from Rosewald High in New Roads, Louisiana. She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.;

Wife to the love of her life, Charles Lee Griffin of Lettsworth, Louisiana. They resided in New Orleans. To this union four children were born;

Servant, After relocating to New Orleans, Louisiana she join St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. D. Warrick. She later moved her membership to Greater St. Rose Missionary Baptist Church in 1965, where the late Dr. Noily Paul Sr. served as Pastor. During this time she was a member of the usher ministry, willing workers, Sunday school, and youth department leader. God elevated her to Trustee, under the leadership of Rev Noily Paul Jr. She was also a member of Chapter #2 O.E.S. Mother was very active in the community in New Orleans and a member of the E.J. Morris Senior Center. She not only attended and supported the center, she volunteered and taught classes to other seniors at the center. Mother was very creative, and whatever she was involved she put fort her best effort. In 2005, due to the devastation of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, she returned to Batchelor Louisiana, and became a member of Good Faith Baptist Church. A visionary and fervent servant, she was always seeking ways to improve, increase and uplift, God’s church. She immediately began serving and organizing activities for the youth and members of Good Faith Baptist Church, until she became ill and could no longer serve. Mother always loved her church. She found so much peace when she studied God’s word, and worshipped as she sung His praises.

                                         “A woman of character and virtue; a TRUE woman of God”
