Although I did not know Matt well, I did know him for a very long time through the rugby club as a kid and then through various friends we had in common. My thoughts to your parents, Matt. I shall light a real candle in your name.
Miss you Matt, I heard the song by Colin Hay yesterday, Waiting for my real life to Begin....and I believe you have been given a new life beyond this one, a calling, a responsibility. I don't know how your family copes without you, such a special person. Thinking of you.
Safe in the arms of the Lord. God Bless you Matt.
I have always remembered Matt, who was my favourite person to "babysit" in Coffs. Not that he ever needed minding; I considered him more of a companion. Great company too. I have watched him in awe from afar ever since my family moved away. So many achievements. What a remarkable person.
I never met you personally but I wish I had. You were obviously an amazing person, and you have inspired one more person to achieve their goals and make the most out of life. I too have a disability, though nowhere near as severe as yours, and hearing your words and witnessing your accomplishments is truly awe-inspiring.
Rest in peace.
Dear Matt
You never met me, and yet here I am,
regretting not knowing you in person.
You are an amazing man with such a great strength!..
loved and mourned even by strangers you never met....
Let your smile remain in all our heart.
I love you.

Matt was very good to me and it was like he understood my feelings. His ability to read people was nothing short of amazing. Matt inspired me - I think I might of rece...
Matt,
Though I never met you personally it was and is a privilege to learn something about you.
Being the father of a disabled son you have given me inspiration to carry on.
You have shown so many so much. You truly are a great man.
I love you Matt and I never met you.
