My Dad was a very hard working Dad all his life, he worked on the building sites ever since he left school, and became a bricklayer, one of the best. He had a lovely wife maureen, who gave him 4 children, Ronald, Richard,Linda and Lorraine, thats me.. Mum and Dad both worked hard at there marriage, and loved each other very much, Dad was a very creative man, all through his life he was always making or doing something, from building a house right down to making a suit for himself, he was very friendly to everybody, everybody loved him, he didnt have any enemies, he would talk to anybody, and wouldnt hurt anybody, hes sadly missed by alot of people. Dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer in may 2007, he took it hard. He used to get pains in his back, which kept him awake some nights, after christmas 2007, you could see a change in dad, he was losing weight, you could see his bones in his body more, but he said he felt ok in himself. 2 weeks before he died he had to go into hospital because he was passing blood in his urine, dad didnt want to go, I think he knew he wouldnt be coming out. The second week in hospital he really started to look very weak and ill, he was on oxygen because of his breathing, they couldnt do anymore for him, and said that he could come home, but mum wouldnt of been able to cope so my brother and I was going to put him in a hospice so he could have 24hr care, but sadly friday 4th april 2008 he passed away, we got to the hospital too late to see him. But the most sadest thing was that it was my sons wedding day the next day, and my dad was so looking forward to going, he was one of the first to buy his suit for the wedding 18months prior to the wedding. How I got throught that day I dont know. I miss my dad very much, life just dont seem the same without him.
