My Story

Mark Phillip Woodwyk was born March 12, 1964 to Don and Violet Woodwyk. The middle child of three boys, older brother Duane and younger brother David. Life wasn't always easy for Mark he suffered from terrible shyness, but he did go on to play football in school and his nick name was "jaws". In 1985 Mark met Natalie, it was love at first sight, they married on March 22, 1986. Two children came from this union, Justin and Nicole, daddy's pride and joy. The kids grew up and and became adults and soon the sound of little feet were once again in our home, first Justin's son Dayton, then Nicole's son Clayton. In December of 2008 Little Brooklynn came into the world, Grandpa's princess, he had just six short months with her. A massive heart attack left him weak and living on borrowed time, in and out of the hospital for the next 11 months with bouts of CHF and Renal failuar. Then in May of 2009 the doctors decided to try one last thing, they put an LVAD (left vantricular assistant divice) in his chest to let the heart rest in hopes of a transplant, but Mark also had Crohn's diease and that flared and once again it was back into surgery only to return to me with a colostomy. Residual bleeding sent a blood clot through his brain (CVA) leaving him brain dead, we turned off all life support, everyone said thier goodbyes,and my daughter and I stayed with him till the angels came, at 12:55am on June 25, 2009
