First off, thank you all who visit this site-you must know that you being blessed in the memories of a great woman I had the pleasure of knowing (only for a mere 28 yrs), my grandmother, Mrs. Patricia Alice Sheppard. This is her memory story-okay so here it goes: Patsy was born in Long Beach,California to Patrick & Audrey Mucklow....living a simple life she came to met a young man by the name of Robert Sheppard (who happened to be a navy man). After a brief courting, they were married on August 11,1948 in Port Orchard, Washington. They were blessed with their marriage & moved to Dolgeville, New York to raise their family of 5 children. Bob & Pat would make it almost 59 beautiful years (which some may say it's a long time but they could of lasted forever!) As time went on Bob & Patsy's family grew to over 25 grandchildren (with the spouses) & 21 great grandchildren. Their life was full of laughter, love, happiness & even some tears but I can honestly say they loved each other with a love that could last a lifetime & then some. Grandma had a way about her, everything should be done the right way the first time, treat others with respect, and love everyone. Although gram has passed on her memory lives on in each of us-some have certain memories that others don't-so share them often so noone ever forgets!! Crafting was a very special hobby to Patricia, a very talented lady indeed-from making christmas & halloween decorations from construction paper to using yarns & whatnots (with a collection of crafting stuff-there was always something beautiful she could make). There are memories so many memories that she has given us. The simple things in life gave her pleasure, whether it was watching crafting shows on tv, or when she used to have a garden, or having her pets close to her, or just watching her 4 great-grandchildren playing with toys on her living room floor or even when her & gramps would go shopping-he'd tell her to stay in one spot (so he wouldn't lose her) then he'd come back to find her gone (did he really think she'd be right there-yeah right), or how bout the way she would be all hyped up watching or listening to the blue devils??(she was so wound up she broke her cane from hitting the ground so hard with it). Although she had a rough past couple years she was a fighter & Gramps was there with her every step of the way-never letting her hand go when she needed help (whether she asked for it or not). Gram & gramp shared a love that many of us never will ever know-but that's okay that's their love story-sealed in the greatest of time with many many memories of dancing, laughing, fighting , loving and just good old-fashioned love!!! May Grams soul linger on in all that she had touched........
Found this the other day-thought it worked perfectly:
I'm home in heaven, dear ones,
oh, so happy and bright.
There is perfect joy and beauty,
in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever,
safely home in heaven,
at last.........
