Richard Gary Peacock born December 20,1945 in Detroit Michigan to Walter and Edna Peacock, When Richard was just two years of age the family moved to Phoenix AZ. Richard grew up to be strong and a very independent young man. He joined the army at age 17. He was discharged in 1965. After the pour choices and the mistakes of youth Richard worked very hard to turn his life around. Richard married the mother of his two daughters in Sept.1968, Sherri Ann was born in December, 1969 and Peggy Sue was born 1973. Richard loved camping fishing hunting and the outdoors Sherri Ann went on her very first camping trip at age 2 weeks old, by the time she was two years old she was helping her dad clean the fish. Peggy Sue went on her first camping trip in the snow at about a month old. Richard loved sharing the outdoors with his daughters. They divorced in 1979. Richard had a Varity of jobs, car wash, truck driver, furniture store, dry wall hanger etc, you might say he was a jack of all trades but master of none. Richard loved his motorcycles, friends riding and building bikes and the open road. He found a woman that shared his love for Harleys, and traveling the open road. He married Janet in 1985. They enjoyed the gypsy lifestyle, and looking for new adventures riding down the road. They made ends meet by selling and trading things at swap meets and yard sells, after a few years they separated and finally divorced in 2001. Richard lived briefly in Kentucky but I think this was a turning point in his life, he was getting older away from home away from family and friends, he had grandchildren that he didn’t know and he missed his daughters. He returned to phoenix AZ to reconnect with his daughters Peggy and Sherri and grandchildren, suvannah, james, jessica, and kalie he met a woman Joann and her family and set out to build a new life for himself. Richard was a man who spoke his mind and wanted you to do the same, he was gruff and tough and always right even when he was wrong. He also was a different man when around his daughters and grandkids. He allowed them to see the soft kinder loving side of himself. The last few years Richard suffered with many health issues but always recovering and going on. Then a few months ago they discovered a very aggressive cancer that he had to battle. He fought hard with dignity and grace but the pain was to much to bare he decided to enter hospice of the valley. His family rotated shifts never leaving him alone, they were there to help him face his greatest challenge. On Sunday Aug 8th, Richard passed away. His devoted partner Joan and her son Robert, and Richards two sisters Diane and Rita brother Raymond and Richards two daughters Sherri and Peggy at his bedside. His grandkids had said there goodbyes earlier that day. Richard was a wonderful father , grandfather , brother, lover ,uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed .
WE LOVE YOU DAD !!!
