Roderick Roy Hastings was born in Malone,NY, the son of Gibson and Hilda Hastings on June 1, 1940..He grew up there with three sisters and two brothers Douglas, Diane, Earl, Norma, and Irma. He attended Franklin Acadamy and St. Regis Falls Central High school...After graduation he left home and joined the United States Air Force. He toured for 4 years and was stationed in Puerto Rico and Flordia..He came back home and married Nancy and had two sons Roderick and Jody..He divorced and married Deborah Ziser..They moved to Augusta,GA.  in 1974 and had a daughter named Rebecca in1979..During his time in Augusta he managed a Shoneys,ran a flae market, worked for Regency Mall for over 10 years and worked for a security company for a few years before his retirement in 2003.He also became a dad to many kids that he cared for through the years which earned him his nick name POPS. He fought a long hard battle against cancer and finally layed to rest on July 16, 2009 surrounded by friends and family that loved him dearly.
