My Story

On the night of February 16, 2010 Charles did not return home from work like he had told us earlier that day. At first my husband thought he was just playing a joke on us so he called his work to see if he had left yet, they told my husband he had already been on his way home from work and that he was walking, so sometime has passed and somebody from Wendy's had called our home back and said."somebody was hit by a car on Route 61 & Ann st". I ran down the steps crying ripping through the phone books for a hospital number and called the ER to see if they had anyone there by his name and they said they did not. Booby (my husband) went down to the scene to see if it was Charles or not, not even 2 min. later I see flashing lights out side and I said to myself oh my god this is not good, so I ripped open the mini blind trying to see a helicopter maybe taking him life flight to another hospital , but instead was a police car out front of my house. I ran outside in my bare feet in a pile of snow screaming. "Please tell me my brother is ok". But the officer would not say a word till he came over to the door and when he broke the news and said. " sorry he did not make it". I almost fell over. Charles was a great person and very loving and kind to all. He did not deserve this at all, nobody deserves to lose there life like this. I am saddened to have to be writing this and it just stinks that his life was robbed at only 26 years old, he had a whole life ahead of him to look forward to. I know Charles is with god now and is shining down on all of us. We love you and miss you so dearly and carry your memory in our hearts forever.
