Tommy suffered with a few health problems in the last few years. First of all he had chest problems and struggled with his breathing at times. Then he got cancer in his right eye. This resulted in him having to have the eye removed. As a result of this, and 18 months later, the cancer seemed to have spread to his liver and this put a lot of strain on his weak body. He lost his fight for life on 23rd January 2009 with his family at his bedside.
Perfect and loving Son, Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend.
Always there to cheer you up, tell jokes ,most of them were good but the odd one struggled to cause a chuckle.
Loved many things in life. His wonderful, big and loving family being first and foremost. One of the many characters within a large family and one that will never be forgotten.
He loved greyhound racing, as did his dad. Owning and racing a number of dogs, including some successful ones gave him a sense of pride and happiness.
Another of his pastimes was fishing which meant he could get away and have some peace, which is always going to be hard in a house with 4 kids ha ha.
We are all going to miss a lot of things about him, but I think especially his warm smile and the way that, no matter what had happened or what was going on, he could make everyone laugh and lighten the mood.
I for one feel privileged as does everyone that knew him to have had him in my life.
Gone but never forgotten.
Rest in Peace with God, your Mum and Dad, Brother and Son at your side.
We all Love You and forever will.
