Fort Thompson Man Charged With Murder

A Fort Thompson man has been arrested in connection with a woman's death in May.
Authorities believe 33-year-old Johnny McKeen killed Victoreen Faith Jones by beating her and sticking her with a cane.
A federal grand jury has indicted McKeen on charges of second-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
If convicted, McKeen could be imprisoned for life.

PIERRE (AP) - A Fort Thompson man is being held without bond on federal charges of second-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Johnny McKeen, 33, is accused of killing Victoreen Faith Jones, of Fort Thompson, by using a cane to poke and beat her on May 13.
He was indicted and appeared in federal court Friday in Pierre. If convicted, McKeen could be imprisoned for life.
My Mother was taken away to soon from all of us children. She still had a great deal of life left to share with her family.
I was just beginning to have a mother-daughter relationship with her after years of living out-of-state. She was teaching me how to bake bread and sew. My children were just getting to really know her.
