....... was the very essence of compassion, of soft-spokeness, of unique style, of subtle beauty. Thank you sweetheart, for the way you significantly changed and enhanced my life as well as those who adored you from the moment you were born on Sunday, October 1, 1989 at 4:43pm. As a result of your death on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 6;22pm, a huge part of your Mom and I died along with you. I am confident you were clearly aware of just how strong our love was and still is for you. Although God granted you but not even half a life. I will forever feel cheated that you were taken from us so abruptly, so young and so enthusiastic toward life ahead.
Only the strength of the message you gave us through your years of effortlessly giving while always considering the feelings of others before your very own, has afforded me the strength to move forward. Your ability to think rationally, maintain that wonderful levelheadedness and strength was an amazing part of your character, despite difficult times or adverse conditions. Over the years we discussed and made so many plans for the future...all of which will never take place.
As I mentioned to you over and over again on a daily, even hourly basis, my love for you is so powerful that I would've done anything for you including sacrificing my own life without any hesitation so that you could go on living. We had a connection in this lifetime that absolutely no one else could possibly have or even imagine having. You knew it and I know...and that's all that will ever matter.
I would like to end by giving thanks for the life of a beautiful young woman I am so proud to be able to call my daughter. The unique, the complex, the extraordinary and irreplaceable Patrice Carolyn who will never, ever leave my mind, my body, my soul.
